MEET JENNIFER RICHARDSON

Jennifer Richardson is a former television news anchor and reporter with more than 15 years of newsroom experience.

Throughout her journalism career, she interviewed elected officials, CEOs, law enforcement leaders, nonprofit executives, educators, healthcare professionals, and community members while covering breaking news, public safety, politics, education, business, and major community issues.

That experience shapes every Richardson Media training.

Rather than teaching communication theory, Jennifer helps participants understand how journalists think, how stories develop, and how to communicate clearly when the cameras are rolling.

Today, she works with organizations throughout Oregon to prepare spokespersons before interviews, major announcements, public meetings, and crisis situations. She even offers her expertise to college students, teaching an upper-level media class and videography bootcamp.

Contact Us

“While I’m very confident in the team we have at Willamalane, we identified some gaps in our experience as it relates to working with the media. To get our team up to speed, we reached out to Richardson Media and it was a great decision for Willamalane. Jennifer put a team of Willamalane staff through a training that taught us some methods of preparation and organization when we’re contacted by the media. In addition, the training included mock interviews and press conferences that tested our abilities in real time. I can say this with complete confidence, everyone on our team left the training significantly more prepared. Jennifer’s experience as a reporter combined with her ability to succinctly teach the right skills and customize training for the partner she’s working with was exceptional.

I would highly recommend Richardson Media to anyone seeking experience in media relations. Jennifer is an absolute pro.”

Kenny Weigandt

Community Engagement Program Manager, Willamalane Park and Recreation District

“Jennifer and her team did a phenomenal job designing a media training that incorporated a variety of agencies. Both veteran communicators and people new to the field found value in the training, and the exercises were customized in a way that allowed participants to practice and enhance several key skills.”

Devon Ashbridge

"Richardson Media not only helped us build confidence, but they also provided us with applicable tips we could put into practice to put into practice the same day. From learning how to create relatable messaging to fine-tuning the art of the pivot, the training was top notch!"
