ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Our team partnered with PeaceHealthEugene School District 4J, and Volunteers in Medicine to build a full-scale PR campaign for the launch

of the Everyone Village Medical Unit and new recuperation beds.

THE GOAL

Stakeholders from Everyone Village wanted to bring attention to the grand opening of the medical unit and reached out to Richardson Media to help garner public attention for their ribbon cutting event. Months before the ribbon cutting, Richardson Media developed a strategic approach to handling this project, which included:  

  • Coordinated messaging
  • Creating a first-round media push to announce the project
  • Developing a detailed press release and fact sheet
    for the ribbon cutting

THE COMMUNICATION

Our team developed a detailed press release, a personalized media pitch, and a comprehensive media kit that included b-roll and soundbites for journalists to help tell the story. We executed an initial release that generated strong early attention and built anticipation for the main event, followed by a second major media push during the event itself. To support coverage on-site, we provided printed materials for journalists and key stakeholders, along with event signage designed by Bill and the board signage highlighting key details. We even followed up personally, texting journalists to confirm attendance and ensure strong media presence throughout.

THE TIMELINE

The six-month PR campaign centered around two major milestones: the initial announcement in June and the ribbon cutting ceremony in September.

THE RESULTS

With steady follow-ups and reporter outreach, the story gained momentum—earning coverage from every major local outlet, plus highlights in the Register-Guard, Yahoo News, KEZI, KMTR, and more. This collaboration shows how strategic planning, strong community partnerships, and persistent media relations can turn a vital local health initiative into headline news.

The grand opening of our the Everyone Village Community Health Clinic and medical recuperation units was a resounding success! This landmark event for Eugene and it's most vulnerable neighbors was witnessed by several media outlets and has continued to generate a buzz on social media.
